interesting fact

One of the main concepts that stood out to me in these chapters were how non-verbal messages can be misinterpreted and the meanings can completely change how a situation is portrayed. Furthermore, when I am placed in a situation where the messages are confusing or misread I first begin to make sure that I am making a correct assumption based on what I know rather than what I think it is. These lessons have given me an open mind about non-verbal messages either between society I am used to or through other countries that practice different non-verbal gestures. I have been able to learn from past mistakes in terms of assumptions that I have made and it has allowed me to make different decisions when encountered with non-verbal messages.

I think it is interesting as well that "non-verbal messages can be misinterpreted and the meanings can completely change how a situation is portrayed," like you said. Something similar happened to me....

The other day I completely clashed with someone because I thought he was cocky, and he had a bad first impression of me, too- all having to do with facial expressions. It is important to remember the different types of non-verbal messages and what they mean.

After reading this chapter, I have been a lot more careful about non-verbal messages because I do not want to end up in a bad situation because I misinterpreted something. Thanks for your blog!
