cell phones in today's society

Cell phones in this society have become one of the most upcoming technological features to ever take over the world of communication. From its many options to communicate through texting, three-way calling, music playing, organizing, surfing the web, navigation and much more, cell phones have more beneficial characteristics than any other way of keeping touch and establishing relationships. I have found, personally, that using cell phones are the largest ways to increase the means of connecting with others. At times I have found that cell phones do get in the way of certain daily situations such as school, work, meetings, family gatherings, driving, etc. As much as I enjoy using my cell phone everywhere I go, I have had to make many changes with only using this device at certain times of the day and making sure it doesn't go off when its not suitable. In addition, some people have viewed the cell phone usage as a distraction and at times inappropriate because of its inappropriate use at times. If I were in a church service, using my cell phone would be extremely rude to do because it signifies disrespectful behavior, or if I were to use it while sitting across the table from a friend or parent, looking at my phone and texting would be seen as absoulety rude. I have done both of these things and have realized that there is a time and place for cell phones, regardless of how your whole life may be saved on a SIM card, it should be used in the right manner. I don't personally feel that placing callers on hold is entirely rude or inappropriate, because if you are a business person and you have calls coming left and right, then you need every call possible. However, I believe that if it's the right timing and a caller is trying to get a hold of you and you can safely answer then it's not such a bad thing. I believe that cell phones have evolved more throughout time and will continue to only distract more and more but the ways we work around it will eventually have to change.
